A smart choice for heating during winter

No Smoke

With an electric fireplace, long gone are the days when your whole house smelled like smoke.

You can have a fireplace without harmful smoke or smoky odors seeping into carpets, rugs, couches, clothing or beds.

Energy Efficient

Electric fireplaces are one of the most efficient ways to heat a home and heat rooms faster and more efficiently than wood-burning fireplaces.

Since heat rises, traditional chimney fireplaces let all the heat out through the chimney. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, “most traditional open fireplaces lose over 90 percent of the fire’s heat out the chimney, and much of the heated air in the room goes with it.”.

Since drafts come in through the chimney, your already heated room becomes cold again after a few gusts of freezing air coming down.

With an electric fireplace, rooms warm up quickly and stay warm throughout use.

Save Money

You may have guessed that the energy efficiency of electric fireplaces also makes them more cost-efficient.

As far as fireplaces go, electric is the least expensive. One of the reasons why is because electric fireplaces provide supplemental zone heating.

Zone heating saves money by allowing you to lower the overall temperature of your home by 10-15 degrees.

Then, you heat only the room that is occupied.

This concept reduces the use of wasted energy and could save you up to 10% on your energy bills.

Electric fireplaces also save you from costly chimney cleaning, service checks, and installation fees.

For wood-burning fireplaces, costs associated with installing and maintenance tend to be outrageous. With a traditional fireplace, you can expect to pay anywhere from $7,000-$10,000 or more on installation.

Furthermore, associated costs can add up quickly. Chimney inspection, chimney cleaning, wood, and the lost heat that escapes from the chimney can drive up those numbers.

Gas fireplace units run around $2,500 for the basic materials, along with another $2,500 for installation and finishing. Gas fireplaces also require annual service checks plus a chimney inspection, which can run from $100-$200.

Meanwhile, an electric fireplace allows you to simply plug it in and enjoy.

Anyone Can Enjoy an Electric Fireplace

Renters and those living in apartments, condos, small homes and even recreational vehicles (RVs) seldom get to enjoy the warmth and ambiance of a fireplace.

With electric fireplaces, anyone can enjoy the dancing flames in any room of their home.

Since there is no need for a chimney, electric fireplaces can be placed on any level of a building.

Easy Installation

One of the best things about electric fireplaces is the ease of installation. It is a one-step process!

All you have to do is plug it in and you are ready to enjoy.

On the opposite side, wood-burning and gas fireplaces are costly, time-consuming, and just a hassle to install. Oftentimes, you need a professional for installation.

Works great and doesn't DRY out the house. No more nose bleeds and dried up eye contacts.

Great little affordable fireplace

Works great, warms the area we needed nicely. Our only minor grumble is the sound that is made when the 'flames' are on. It's not terrible, but it can seem loud & does get on my husbands nerves after a bit, especially when the house is on the quiet side. Definitely not a deal breaker, the flames can be turned off anyway and it's a nice and affordable little fireplace heater.

No assembly

So far so good. It looks very life like. I appreciate it came already set up. Other infrared heaters I looked at had significant assembly. This came straight out of the box ready to be plugged in.

Great little heater for the price, fireplace effect looks great!

First off, I really want to give this item 5 stars, but settled on 4 because it just doesn't heat as quickly as I'd like. That said, the fireplace looks beautiful. You can dim or disable the fireplace itself if not in use, or vice-versa, you can run the fireplace without the heater for a great summertime look without the added heat.

The unit defaults to 72 when you turn it on. There is no way to change this, so if you like it a little cooler (we keep ours at 66), you have to remember to change the temp every time you turn it on. It's not a big deal, but we have woken up sweating in the middle of the night because we forgot to change the temp.

The heat put out is quite nice, but we are heating an un-insulated converted garage turned bedroom with it, roughly 500 sq ft. It can take a few hours to go from the low 40's to the mid 50's with this thing, so we usually turn it on at least a few hours before we go to bed, just to get it to an acceptable temperature. I am sure this would work much better in an insulated room.

The remote feels cheap, but works well. When we received ours, the remote was actually split into it's 2 separate pieces, but easily clipped back into each other (did have to be mindful of the IR bulb when putting it back together). We haven't had any problems with it since.

One feature I like is that you can hold down the temp up button on the unit to display the ambient temperature. Unfortunately, this does not work from the remote control. The display in the upper right does go blank after a few minutes of not touching anything, giving it much more of a fireplace look and less of a digital look. The display is actually behind a small grill that pulls down (separate from the grill that is in front of the heat output so it does not get hot), therefore hiding the display nicely when the display is not on.

All in all, I think this was a great purchase and would purchase again if I had to do it all over again.

Smaller than I hoped, but delivers where it matters

We are in the process of refinishing our basement and plan on putting in a heat pump, but needed something to heat the 1,000+ sq ft insulated space in the meantime. Spent sometime researching electric options, and this seemed the best option without spending a ton of money.

It does the job perfectly. It took about 16 hours to get the space up to temperature (70 degrees) but has since maintained it nicely. Only negative I have to say, is the unit is smaller than I was anticipating. But that certainly isn't a deal breaker for me.
